Leigh-Ann Powers graduated from Gettysburg College – a long, long time ago. After teaching public school music for several years, she continued in music on a part-time basis while raising 3 daughters. She has directed choirs in Lancaster at Holy Spirit Lutheran, St. Paul Lutheran in Penryn, and Trinity Lutheran in Mount Joy. She has played the organ at St. Paul Lutheran, and St. Paul Methodist, Mountville, before coming to Redeemer. Leigh-Ann and her husband, Bill, have found a wonderful faith family at Redeemer, and enjoy sharing their musical talents here.
Tim Sterner – Director of Praise Choir
Tim Sterner graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with a concentration in voice. He has taught music at The School District of Lancaster for 25 years. Currently at J. P. McCaskey High School, he is in charge of the choral department. He has been a member of Redeemer Lutheran for 16 years and enjoys pretending he is Billy Joel at the piano on Second Sunday Services.
Lisa Willitts Sterner – Director of Youth Choir
Lisa Willitts Sterner has a degree in Music Education and was an elementary music teacher and choir director with Conestoga Valley School District for sixteen years. Currently, her jobs include teaching voice/viola lessons and preschool music classes, as well as conducting the Youth Choir here at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Passionate about acting, Lisa has frequently performed in theaters throughout Lancaster County, and has also toured in Canada with the show, An Amish Family Christmas . One of her favorite creative outlets, in addition to harmonizing praise songs, is directing the McCaskey High School spring musical! When not working, Lisa can be found singing, reading, spending time with her family, or doing zumba fitness!
Tammy Steinhart – Director of Junior/Children’s Choirs
Tammy Steinhart is a lifelong member of Redeemer. She has a BS from Messiah College and a Masters in CE from Gettysburg Seminary. Best known as Ms. Tammy at Redeemer, she has been the children’s choir director and VBS song director for the past 13 years. In more recent years, she has been the lay leader and vocalist for the Praise Service. If you ask her what she loves most about her job, she will always tell you “THE KIDS.”
